Strategies to Beat the "Initiative of the Day"

Career Systems International (CSI) partners with organizations around the globe challenged with the career development,engagement, and retention of their experienced workforce. Many of these organizations seek out the expertise of companies like CSI to help develop and deliver a robust talent management strategy that will grow their talent and keep them engaged. When CSI leaves however, future-minded organizations get creative or watch their investment return less than expected results.

To beat the “initiative of the day” mentality, many organizations are calling upon their Human Resource (HR) Business Partners or Representatives to serve a whole new role, the Talent Consultant. More and more, organizations are turning to their existing staff to help sustain their talent management strategy beyond the initial roll-out.

Employees, clients, partners and leaders of Career Systems International (CSI) met in Atlanta last month for an all-company meeting designed to help the organization continue on its path to connect, learn and grow.

Joining CSI were four client guests who shared their stories of successful partnerships to help develop, engage, retain and mentor their managers and employees. Also joining the meeting were special guests including Jonathan Winter of Career Innovation; Jennifer Kahnweiler, author of Quiet Influence; and Michael Wilkinson, author of The Secrets of Facilitation

In addition to learning from best-selling authors and hearing from clients, Founder Dr. Beverly Kaye shared her wit and her vision of a “fearless future” for CSI and Chief Executive Officer Pat Smith shared the company’s vision of transformation moving “together toward tomorrow.” CSI employees also learned about new offerings in the pipeline, marketing efforts, and more importantly from each other as the entire team shared best practices and their strengths during the event.
